Liberal’s Meltdown Since Trump Election

Posted by Steve Markowitz on December 18, 2016

Since Donald Trump’s election, the liberal Left has been in a downward spiral.  Immediately following the election the Left was in shock and acted in a respectable manner.  Hillary Clinton graciously conceded and suggested that the President-elect be given time to work on behalf of the People.  Barack Obama gracious statements included offering his office’s full cooperation in the transition of power.  In the five weeks since, the liberal Left has been in full attack mode.

First, Green Party candidate Jill Stein asked for vote recounts in various states even though she received few votes during election.  This effort had the tacit support of Hillary Clinton’s team.  When that effort failed, the Russian-backed computer issue took over.  While there is clear evidence of Russian hacking that was known before the election, the liberal Left attempted to create a nexus between that hacking and the election’s outcome.  However, there is absolutely no evidence to support this narrative.

The liberal Left is persistent.  Now, their attempt to nullify the will of the People is focused on convincing Electors to ignore the vote outcomes in their states.  While this effort will fail, the tactic nevertheless indicates a distain for the Democratic process and Constitution.  Prior to the election, when the Left was convinced of Hillary’s inevitable victory, their related focus was on whether Trump would accept the will of the People when he lost.  Their approach since demonstrates the Left’s hypocrisy.

The Left’s derangement since Trump’s election goes deeper than organized political associations.  This has been exhibited by some in the news media breaking down in tears, college professors giving students time off for election depression, and New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio offering paid counseling for city workers depressed by Trump’s election.  Families were even coached prior to Thanksgiving on how to avoid acrimonious discussions during the holiday dinner.

This week Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewed Kurt Eichenwald, senior Newsweek writer, concerning his reporting of Trump.  The exchange, included in the video below, is a poster child for Leftist derangement.

Carlson raised an Eichenwald tweet in which the Newsweek reporter indicated that Trump had a nervous breakdown and was “institutionalized in a mental hospital for a nervous breakdown in 1990.”  Carlson asked a yes or no question as to whether Trump was ever institutionalized.  Not only wouldn’t Eichenwald’s answer, but he is response devolved into derangement with the Newsweek senior writer seemingly losing connection with reality.

It is understandable that those who voted for Hillary Clinton are disappointed with the election.  However, given that Donald Trump was elected and will become the next President of the United States, the derangement has developed is irrational.  It also is undemocratic.

It is time for all Americans to get behind the President-elect and work with him to promote policies that are for the benefit of the Country.  Should the President-elect propose or promote policies not in keeping with one’s moral or political views, that would be the appropriate time for opposition.

Liberal Comedian Speaks of his Conversion to Conservatism

Posted by Steve Markowitz on September 12, 2014

Winston Churchill once famously said: “If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”  It is not surprising that with age comes experience and with experience comes reality.

But age is not the only force at work in the morphing liberals into conservatives.  At times the real world offers horrific human experiences that force the change irrespective of age.  Such was 9/11, we attacks that left over 3,000 innocent Americans dead at the hands of Islamic militants. Since then the tide of radical Islam has spread throughout the Middle East, North Africa and even parts of Asia.

Comedian and author, Evan Savet, was one liberal whose conversion to conservatism was a direct result of the 9/11 attacks.  His brief story included in the video below is compelling.

Liberal Professor Alan Dershowitz Calls Ted Cruz “Brilliant”

Posted by Steve Markowitz on April 7, 2014

Alan DershowitzHarvard professor Alan Dershowitz is an un-avowed liberal.  However, unlike many liberal professors today, Dershowitz is true to his ACLU type beliefs even if they encroach on Leftist dogma.

Now, after 50 years of employment at Harvard University, Dershowitz is hanging up his spurs and retiring.  The good professor was recently interviewed by Madeleine Morgenstern of the Philadelphia Inquirer who questioned Dershowitz about some of his former students who went on to become famous.  His comments include:

Former presidential adviser David Gergen– “Very quiet, very quiet.  Not memorable in the classroom, but outside the classroom, when we would talk, he clearly was a leader.  You could see that.

Former United States Sen. Elizabeth Dole– “She was very talkative, and she was in a class of practically all women because in those days family law was called women’s law because women were thought to be only suited for the soft stuff.  She was not soft at all.  She was brilliant.”

CNBC’s Jim Cramer of Mad Money – “Jim didn’t come to class all that often.  He was buying and selling stocks.  You know, his answering machine when he was my research assistant had stock tips.

Ted CruzFormer New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer– “So terrific a research assistant!  Maybe everything that happened to him since was my fault because one day I said to him, ‘Eliot, you’re working too hard. Go out and have some fun.'”

Perhaps Dershowitz’s most telling remarks came when he discussed United States Sen. Ted Cruz of whom he said:  “Off-the-charts brilliant.  And you know, liberals make the terrible mistake, including some of my friends and colleagues, of thinking that all conservatives are dumb.  And I think one of the reasons that conservatives have been beating liberals in the courts and in public debates is because we underestimate them. Never underestimate Ted Cruz. He is off-the-chart brilliant.  I don’t agree with his politics.

This high praise for Cruz must be causing heartburn within much of the Progressive Left and its pals in the mainstream media.  The false narrative created for most politicians who dare to disagree with Leftist dogma is that their opponents are somehow ignorant, approaching subhuman standing.  This fascist approach to politics is meant to discourage reasonable debate and political discourse.  It is likely that Dershowitz’s very public and positive comments concerning Ted Cruz relates to the professor’s concern for the fascist approach embraced by many of his Leftist cohorts.

Liberals Mistake Dislike for Obama’s Policies for Hate

Posted by Steve Markowitz on March 26, 2014

Liberals fear intellectual debate.  An often used tactic to quell such discussion is to claim that those who oppose Progressive ideology are intellectually inferior.  Going back to the 1950s Liberals attacked President Eisenhower for being lacking and too often playing golf.  They offer no such concern relating to the current president.

In the early 90’s Dan Quayle was attacked for lacking intellect due to mistakes he made in public forums.  No such attacks are made by the media or their Leftist allies on the inept Joe Biden.

In more recent years the Left’s attacks on the opposition have become even more vicious.  Those who disagree with Progressive dribble are either anti-women, anti-gay, or racist or a combination of these deficiencies.  Those who dare disagree with President Obama are often accused of racist motivations.

While the Left’s personal attacks on those who disagree are not only anti-intellectual and anti-democratic, they have also been successful.  The fear of being labeled anti-woman, anti-gay or racist has put a muzzle on political debate in the Country.  The fear created is reminiscent of the anti-Communist and McCarthyism purges that were so effective quelling political discourse in the 1950s.

Below is a collection of video clips from the Progressive’s mouthpiece, MSNBC.  Notice how many times the word “hate” is used to define disagreement with Barack Obama policies.  This false narrative would be bad enough if it was by mere coincidence.  However, the sheer volume proves it to be a talking point promoted by the Left.  With over one half of Americans America disappointed with Obama policies, propagandists such as MSNBC are losing any semblance of journalism.

8 Quotes Common Sense by Justice Clarence Thomas

Posted by Steve Markowitz on March 9, 2014

Clerance ThomasClarence Thomas, born in Savannah Georgia, came from humble beginnings.  Thomas obtained his undergraduate degree at the College of the Holy Cross and his law degree from Yale Law School.  His professional career includes being the working in private practice, Assistant Attorney General in Missouri, a legislative assistant to a US Senator, being Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights at the US Department of Education, serving as chairman of the Equal Opportunity Commission, a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for DC, and since 1991 an Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court.

While Thomas’s credentials speak for themselves, he has been the target of attacks and racism from the Left.  During his 1991 Supreme Court justice confirmation hearing, Thomas was accused by Anita Hill of making sexual comments in the workplace.  This accusation caused quite a stir during those hearings.  Even assuming the claim’s accuracy, it is interesting to compare the Left’s reactions to their muted response when female co-workers women have been mistreated by high-profile liberals, including the Kennedys and Bill Clinton.

Thomas believes in a strict interpretation of the U.S. Constitution with a conservative bent.  It is these views that have made him a target for the Left’s vicious attacks.  Nothing causes more fear in the Left than people of color and women who do not believe they need the protection of the liberal establishment in order to make it in America.  It is that fear that drives their hatred towards Clarence Thomas, the late Margaret Thatcher, and so many other African-Americans and women who dare to go against liberal dogma.

Below are eight quotes from Justice Clarence Thomas that help show the logic intellect of the man.

1. “To define each of us by our race is nothing short of a denial of our humanity.”

2. “My sadness is that we are probably today more race and difference-conscious than I was in the 1960s when I went to school.  To my knowledge, I was the first black kid in Savannah, Georgia, to go to a white (Catholic) school.  Rarely did the issue of race come up.”

3. “I don’t believe in quotas.  America was founded on a philosophy of individual rights, not group rights.”

4. “The black people I knew came from different places and backgrounds – social, economic, even ethnic- yet the color of our skin was somehow supposed to make us identical in spite of our differences.  I didn’t buy it.  Of course we had all experienced racism in one way or another, but did that mean that we had to think alike?”

5. “Differences in race, differences in sex, somebody doesn’t look at you right, somebody says something.  Everybody is sensitive.  If I had been as sensitive as that in the 1960s, I’d still be in Savannah.”

6. “Every person in this room has endured a slight.  Every person. Somebody has said something that has hurt their feelings or did something to them — left them out.”

7. “The absolute worst I have ever been treated, the worst things that have been done to me, the worst things that have been said about me, are by northern liberal elites, not by the people of Savannah, Georgia.”

8. “Why do you think I get in so much controversy?  People have a model of what they think a black person should think.”

Charles Krauthammer versus Jon Stewart

Posted by Steve Markowitz on October 24, 2013

Earlier this week we posted a video of Jon Stewart blasting the Obama Administration on its pathetic implementation of Obamacare.  Stewart took off on the issue of the government not being able to get its get website, the portal to Obamacare for individuals, to work.

While a liberal, Stewart is at least intelligent and articulate on the positions he proffers.  Just as intelligent and articulate is Charles Krauthammer on the Right.  The video below of Krauthammer and Stewart debating the underpinnings of liberalism versus conservatism is a worthy look at an argument that needs to be had as a Country decides on future directions.

Liberal Logic

Posted by Steve Markowitz on March 4, 2013

Blog reader Henry sent in some humorous, but troubling interpretations of liberal logic.  The first one posted below shows the outrageous disconnect between individual Leftist’s wealth and their attack on the wealthy.  Clearly these Leftists have forgotten that bricks can easily penetrate glass walls.

Pastor DeForest Soaries’ Straight-talk

Posted by Steve Markowitz on October 4, 2010

Earlier this week this Blog commended a member of the Jewish clergy, Rabbi Shlomo Lewis, for his straight-talk on terrorism.  The Rabbi’s message was even more courageous given that his tough message on terror was pointed to a community that typically has a Liberal bias.

Today, this Blog commends an African-American Baptist minister, Reverend DeForest Blake Soaries, Jr., for straight-talk of his own.  Pastor Soaries is the minster at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, New Jersey.  His message, was also pointed to a community that typically has a Liberal bent and was included in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, link provide below.

Dr. Soaries starts to take on this difficult subject by starting with a discussion about fellow pastor, Bishop Eddie Long, of a megachurch in Atlanta, Georgia, who was recently involved in sexual abuse allegations.  But this sordid story was not the subject of Soaries’ comments.  Instead he attacked what he has called the “Prosperity Gospel” in black churches.  To quote Dr. Soaries:

It would be premature to judge the truth of these allegations, but it is not too soon to weigh in on his opulent lifestyle.”

If God were a cosmic Santa Claus, then the entire economic crisis could be brought to a halt by making our lists of needs and sending them to Him.  Reasonable people know that faith in God must be accompanied by responsible actions to achieve lasting prosperity.  Education, hard work and discipline are key components to any authentic prosperity plan.”

The problem of excessive greed is prevalent throughout our society and has been elevated to a higher ground by us spoiled Baby-Boomers.  Its prevalence was pronounced and glorified in the 1987 movie, Wall Street, by Gordon Gekko with his video clip provided below.  Our society would do well to put more stock in preachers like pastor Soaries.

NOW Finally Speaks

Posted by Steve Markowitz on September 23, 2010

The National Organization of Women (NOW), has been eerily quiet in recent years on issues with significant impact on women’s rights.  Their silence seems to coincide with the election of a Liberal President.

When Iran announced it would stone a women to death for a supposed affair or when the Ground-Zero Imam suggested that American needs to be Shariah compliant,  not a word came from NOW .  Their acquiescence seems more fitting for the National Organization of Wimps

But never fear, NOW has been awakened by the folks at Kentucky Fred Chicken.  To publicize its new bunless Double Down sandwiches to younger people, KFC is  hiring coeds on college campuses to hand out coupons while wearing fitted sweatpants with “Double Down” in large letters across their rear ends.  That got the folks at NOW going with its president Terry O’Neill saying: “It’s so obnoxious to once again be using women’s bodies to sell fundamentally unhealthy products.”

Should Ms. O’Neil visit a college she would see that coeds and apparel makers are using the seat of their pants for all sorts of messages.  Should she take a moment to watch MTV or listen to today’s popular music she would learn that sex sells.  Where does Ms. O’Neil hide?

Finally, as Blog reader Jim commented, NOW advocates that women are solely capable of making a decision on abortion, but doesn’t seem to believe they have the capabilities to determine what goes on their buns.  …..   Seeing any inconsistency here?

When it Comes to the Tea Party, Obama Just Doesn’t Get It

Posted by Steve Markowitz on September 20, 2010

The New York Time reported today that President Obama’s political advisers are getting anise about the upcoming elections.  In an effort to reverse what they see as huge losses for the Democrats, they are considering options that include an advertising campaign tying the Republicans in with the Tea Party, who they will portray as being made up of extremists.

The President’s proposed strategy is as flawed as his foreign policy strategy.  The Tea Party is a grassroots movement made up of everyday Americans who see the government as radical.  It is gaining traction throughout middle America.  To attack the Tea Party the Democrats will need to attack America’s core values themselves.  As the Times points out, “Except for Ms. O’Donnell in Delaware, Republican nominees that Democrats like to showcase as extremists – including in Senate races in Nevada, Colorado, Kentucky and even blue-state Connecticut – are even with their Democratic rivals in polls or ahead.”

When the Tea Party began, Liberals tried to marginalize the Tea Partiers yelled racial epitaphs during a protest in Washington that proved to be a lie.  The American people are fed up with an overreaching government that is not responsive.  The people have responded by first giving the Republicans a message, throwing out the some long-term leaches.  This November it will be the Democrat’s turn to receive the message from the people.  While the Democrat Party might ultimately get it, don’t expect the same from Obama who is perhaps the most tone-deaf politician to ever be elected to national office.
