MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is on a roll, downhill. Evidently the positive impact coming from Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, as well as the sinking political fortunes of Barack Obama, are affecting Matthews’ mental state.
Earlier this week we posted Chris Matthews Freaks Out on Television and Newt Gingrich turns race Baiting Back on MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. After making a fool of himself on national television, Matthews decided to avoid Republicans to debate and instead spewed his race baiting with fellow Leftist journalists. Newsbusters.org reported on two of these occurrences.
During last night’s Hardball coverage of the Republican National Convention, Matthews got together with Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post and John Hielemann of New York Magazine. That race-baiting included the following exchange that incredibly inferred that using the word “Chicago” when describing Obama was somehow racist
Robinson: “It’s all part of this Barack Obama as ‘other’ sort of blanket campaign that has been waged by the Republican Party for some time now. It may be gaining some traction now, though I wonder why now as opposed to a bit closer to election.”
Matthews: “Yea, well let me ask you about that gentleman. What about now, is this constant barrage of assaults, saying the guy is basically playing an old game of demagoguery politics, where you take the money from the worker bees and give it to the poor people to buy votes. That’s basically what they’re charging him with. Old big-style, big-city machine of 50 years ago They keep saying Chicago by the way, have you noticed? They keep saying Chicago. That’s another thing that sends that message – this guy’s helping the poor people in the bad neighborhoods, screwing us in the ‘burbs.”
Hielemann: “There’s a lot of black people in Chicago.”
Forgetting for a moment that whites make up the largest majority in Chicago, the sleazy politics from this city was well known throughout the Country long before Barack Obama was even born. Inferring that connecting Obama, yes a Chicago politician, to that sleaze is somehow racist is just plain outrageous.
Matthews MSNBC coworker Lawrence O’Donnell made a great effort to outdo Matthews during an interview with fellow Leftist Martin Bashir. O’Donnell made race an issue when Republican Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, accused Obama of playing too much golf with McConnell stating that Obama “has been working hard to earn a spot on the PGA Tour.” O’Donnell claimed that by connecting golf to the President, McConnell was somehow connecting Obama with the philanderer Tiger Woods. After listening to this tenuous connection, Bashir concluded: “Wow, things are getting lower and lower by the day.” How lame!
The sounds of desperation and despair from the Left and its media pals are increasing by the day. They squeal as one would expect of a little league baseball team being forced to play in the big leagues.
