Bill Maher: Another Progressive Bigot Comes Out of the Closet

Posted by Steve Markowitz on April 9, 2011

What does Progressive Leftist Bill Maher do when he is unhappy with President Obama?  He resorts spouting anti-Semitism.  This past Friday Maher said (video below):

“I heard him a couple of times saying, “You know what? We met the Republicans what they asked, and then we gave them more.”  That’s like your lawyer saying to you,  “You know, I went into the chambers with the judge and the prosecutor, and my first offer was 40 years to life for you. And I think I can get your tailgating charge moved up to manslaughter.  And that’s my first offer.”  What is wrong with these people?  He is a terrible negotiator.  Does he not even know a Jew?”

Adding an exclamation point to his bigotry, Maher then showed a poster for replacing Glenn Beck on Fox News that depicted Joe Lieberman doing a program called, “Morning Jew.”

For years bigotry has been gaining traction in Leftist circles.  In earlier years it manifested itself mainly on the Left’s fringes with the likes of Louis Farrakhan and Pastor Wright.  It is becoming more mainstream in the Left.  Maher joins other Leftist bigots, as previously post on this Blog:

NPR’s Vivian Schiller attacking Zionist and Christians.

Code Pink calling for Clarence Thomas to be lynched.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell saying the Michael Steele answers to “his masters”.

Helen Thomas telling Jews to go back to Germany.

Oliver Stone indicating that Jews have overblown the Holocaust.

Congressman Paul Kanjorski demeaning minorities.

MSNBC’s Chris Mathews forgets that Obama is black for a few minutes.

Cynthia Tucker taking off on Michael because he is black.

When examples of racism and bigotry from the Left are outed, inevitably Progressive elitists offer excuses such as “they know what is in the person’s heart and therefore that person could not be a racists”.  The Left has wrapped racism in the covers of political correctness for their own continence.  This is a dangerous slippery slope that can lead to fascism.  It is the same slide that allowed half the country to vote for president a man who admittedly attended a bigoted church for twenty years.

Obama’s Brian Williams Interview Shows a Disconnect with the People

Posted by Steve Markowitz on August 30, 2010

This past Sunday President Obama was interviewed by NBC’s Brian Williams.  The President’s answers to the questions posed were pure Obama; nice sound bites, but little substance.  As for Williams’, pure lame-stream media with typical softball questions asked of this Progressive president.

Here are some of the President’s comments forwarded to this post by reader Henry from the “left-coast”.

Referring to Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, Obama said he was confident that Americans will “get beyond all this nonsense” about whether he is really a Christian or born in the U.S.

Here we go again with Progressives not understanding what peoples’ concerns.  It isn’t where the President was born or his religion; it’s his failed policies and the overreaching of the federal government.

Then, again referring to beck the President said:  “The country’s going through a very difficult time, as a consequence of years of neglect in a whole range of areas.  So, given all those anxieties — and given the fact that, you know, in none of these situations are you going to be fix things overnight, it’s not surprising that somebody like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country.”

How condescending of this President to claim that America’s discontent is because “Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country”.  The President’s and the Congresses’ poll numbers are so low not because of Beck, but because the government has spent trillions and promised to fix the economy without success.

Then, in the same interview the President said: “They [Americans] have every right to be frustrated.  And they have every right to be angry.  And I think the message that I will continue to deliver in the months ahead and the years ahead is it took us a long time to get into this hole that we’re in. . . . We’ve been through tougher times before.  And we always come out ahead.  As long as we stay united.  As long as we stay optimistic about the future. As long as we stay innovative.  As long as we work hard and we apply ourselves.”

First he blames American’s anger on Beck.  Then Obama states that it’s economic issues.  In addition, after making so many claims about the benefits of the Stimulus Package, now he states we have a long-term problem.  How convenient!

What I’m focused on is making sure that the decisions we’re making now are going to be not good for the nightly news, not good even necessarily for the next election, but are good for the next generation.”

How can the President make this sound bite with a straight face?  The debt this government has run up is nothing more than stealing from future generations so that this generation of Baby-Boomers can continue to live beyond our means.

We anticipated that the recovery was slowing.  The economy is still growing, but it’s not growing as fast as it needs to. . . . We should be passing legislation that helps small businesses get credit, that eliminates capital gains taxes so that they have more incentive to invest right now.  There are a whole host of measures we could take, [but] no single element of which is a magic bullet but cumulatively can start continuing to build momentum for the recovery.”

Wow, just a year and a half ago the Stimulus Package was presented as a magic bullet the President changes his tune.  As for helping small businesses, nearly every bill that the President has pushed including healthcare reform, cap and trade and the uncertainty of taxes have hurt small businesses.  To now claim otherwise is a distortion of reality.

If you can build a church on that site [Ground Zero], if you can build a synagogue on that site or a Hindu temple on that site, then we can’t treat people of the Islamic faith differently. . . . I didn’t walk [that statement] back at all. The — what I said was I was not endorsing any particular project. I was endorsing our Constitution.

Shame on the President for evoking the Constitution here.  This site was not attacked in the name of Christianity or Judaism.  It was attacked in the name of Islam.  The President should have said that while Muslims have a right to build the mosque at this site, continuing on this path would show that they are “acting stupidly”, as he once so quickly sad of the police in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Part of the reason that I wanted to come down here [New Orleans] today to mark the fifth anniversary [Katrina], was just to send a message [that] . . . all of America, not just people here, not just folks in the White House, but all of America, remains concerned and remains committed to their rebuilding.”

Let see; here is a President who has pushed Cap and Trade to slow global-warming that supposedly will raise the level of the oceans, but wants to spend money rebuilding a city that is already below sea-level.  How insane does it get!

As to the charge that government was slow in responding to the BP oil spill, the President said: It’s just not accurate. . . . Because of the sturdiness and swiftness of the response, there’s a lot less oil hitting these shores and these beaches than anybody would have anticipated, given the volume that was coming out of the . . . well.”

The beaches are cleaner than predicted because the Gulf (mother nature) has proved to be more resilient than experts predicted.  She doesn’t require Progrssives to cleanse her Gulf.  Those tiny microbes in the Gulf just love to eat oil and they did their job well.  Here’s another call by the government to add to other predicted catastrophes that has proven to be a lot less significant than the government predicted.  It will join Y2k, Bird Flu, Swine Flu and other of blown government calls crying wolf.

The President weighed in on a range of topics during this softball interview with Brian Williams.  However, Obama refused was to take responsibility for any of the problems of our economy or Country.  It is this arrogance that helped create the anger brewing with the electorate.  For this arrogance the President’s party will suffer an historic defeat this coming November.  The emperor indeed has no cloths!

Anderson Cooper of CNN Beaten by a Pothead

Posted by Steve Markowitz on March 21, 2010

The Left paints itself as the intellectual class with anyone with differing positions being ignorant.  In the early 1970’s it was Gerald Ford who took too many shots to the head while playing college football, so said the liberal press.  Then it was Ronald Reagan whose lack of intellect made him unworthy of the Presidency.  More recently it was George W. Bush’s and Sarah Palin’s whose intellects were/are constantly challenged, conveniently deflecting from intellectual discussions about policies.

Conversely, when politicians on the Left blunder, they are brushed off as mere slips of the tong.  If accurate, Vice President Joe Biden must be drinking Mobile One for breakfast!  And when Barack Obama said he visited all “57 states”, he must have been tired for surely anyone as Progressive as the President must be an intellect.  In this day when junk science and political correctness rule, it is little wonder that intellect is now determined by ones political views.

The same bogus criterion for determining intellect is used for media personalities (and actors/actresses).  O’Reilly or Beck, they are surely lacking in intelligence since they are not Progressives.  Matthews, Cooper or Couric, their Liberal views prove intellect.

Well, last week one of the self-anointed intellectuals let the team down.  Anderson Cooper of CNN thought he had an easy setup for a recent round of Celebrity Jeopardy.  You see Copper was matched up against Cheech Marin, that famous pothead of Cheech and Chong.  Surely one of CNN’s finest would make mincemeat of an opponent who made his living smoking pot.  Not so fast: Cheech smoked ‘em.  Well Coop, so much for that Yale education of yours.  Maybe had they spent more time on the three R’s instead of Progressive philosophy, you would have been up to the task.

Anderson Cooper was rightfully embarrassed by the spanking laid on him by Cheech and tried to make fun of it in the clip below.  I’ll bet if Glenn Beck took a beating from a pothead it would have been a more serious indication of intellect.

ACORN – Rotten to the Core; Ignored by the Press

Posted by Steve Markowitz on September 20, 2009

ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) has finally been called on its illegal practices.  This past week the Senate and Congress both voted to cut off federal funds to ACORN.  Acorn-header3a-1While the action is to be applauded, it raises serious questions about the government’s prior funding of ACORN and the press ignoring this story.  The Senate and Congress acted only after videos were released showing ACORN’s willingness to work with teenage prostitutes.

The cancer within ACORN has been known for many months, if not years.  It was not publicized because the mainstream media chose to bury the story.  Here are some of the facts that they burred:

  • The co-founder of ACORN, Wade Rathke, was a member of the Students for Democratic Society (SDS), one of the most radical groups of the 1970’s.  rathke200His brother, Dale, was caught embezzling $1,000,000 from ACORN in 1999.  A small group of ACORN executives decided to withhold this information from ACORN’s board and to not alert law enforcement.  Incredibly, Dale Rathke remained on ACORN’s payroll until 2008 when the theft was disclosed and donors forced the organization to dismiss him.
  • When eight of ACORN’s Board members tried to blow the whistle on the organization’s financial scandals, they were thrown out of the organization.
  • ACORN has been charged with voter fraud in various states.
