Al Jazeera Buys All Gore’s Current TV

Posted by Steve Markowitz on January 3, 2013

aljazeera-channelAl Gore is a darling of the Progressive Left, mainly because of his promotion of junk science behind man-made global warming claims.  One of the inconvenient truths that the Left ignores about Gore is it is also a wealthy capitalist who owns carbon belching mansions.

Today it was announced that one of Gore’s ventures, Current TV, has been sold to Al Jazeera, a well-known Arab broadcaster.  Current TV was initially cofounded by Gore and set up as a Leftist mouthpiece for the “news”.  While considered a failure by the number of viewers it attracted, it is reported that Gore could net over $100 million from the deal.

One of the hypocrisies of the Left’s attack on wealthier Americans is that the movement itself is run by wealthy capitalists including Al Gore, Michael Moore and George Soros.  This is an indication that the attack is not so much on wealth as it is on those who would dare question the power of big government or Progressives.

Wealthy Occupy Wall Street Backers Show Hypocrisy

Posted by Steve Markowitz on December 29, 2011

Newsbusters.org yesterday published an article that that demonstrates the hypocrisy emanating from the Left.  Progressives often use class warfare rhetoric in pursuing political agendas.  While such rhetoric is unproductive at best when animating from middle America, it is out right hypocrisy when coming from wealthy Leftists.

The following are examples of the rhetoric reported by Newsbusters.org:

Roseanne Barr – Ms. Barr worth $80 million, was quoted: ”I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty.  I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million.  And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the re-education camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded.”  Hmmmm …. Ms. Barr’s uncivil call would affect 13 other celebrities who support the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Yoko Ono – Reportedly worth a cool $500 million, said “John is sending his smile to Occupy Wall Street.”  John may be smiling, however, Ms. Ono is given of the buck.

Jane Fonda – Hanoi Jane, worth $120 million, is at it again stating: ”Any country that has a very, very small narrow layer, of very rich powerful privileged people and no middle class and the rest are just really struggling and some of them not making it, is a country that’s not going to be stable.”  Should Ms. Fonda live by what she preaches, my giving $100,000 away to individual families, she could instantly bring 1,000 of them into the middle class.

Al Gore – The father of global warming has done quite good with his gig is reported to be now worth $100 million. He has said that Occupy Wall Street, is a ”true grassroots movement pointing out the flaws in our system.”  Father Al is yet another leftist to not practice what he preaches sticking with his private jets and corporate boards of the very types that the Occupy movement supposedly is protesting.

Alec Baldwin – While Baldwin the space of heavy sugar as a spokesman for Capital One Bank, he has the nerve to bite the hand that feeds him stating: ”the bailouts the US government gives major corporations every day’ and ‘the excessive fees forced on customers by certain banks”. It is clear that a high IQ didn’t help Baldwin amass is $65 million.

Michael Moore – It is reported that Moore owns a 10,000 foot vacation home and purchased a car for $1 million, but still had the audacity to deny he was part of those terrible one presenters on CNN’s ”Piers Morgan Tonight.’  While Moore’s guilt is understandable, that does not justify lying.

Dan Rather – Rather, reported to be reportedly worth $70 million, said: ”we are living in an age when big money owns everything, including the news.”  How true Mr. Rather given the wealthy Leftists that one the mainstream media.

Newsbusters.org published the list below with 25 ultra-wealthy Occupy Wall Street supporters.  This group’s total net worth exceeds $4 billion and speaks to the hypocrisy that emanates from Leftist elitists.  Their significant lifetime efforts and success in gathering capital at the expense of others is the antithesis of the philosophy expressed by the Occupied Wall Street movement.  One of their owns suggestion, even tongue-in-cheek, that the guillotine should be considered for the top 13 on the list indicates a combination of stupidity and arrogance that proves intelligence is not needed to gathering wealth.

1. Yoko Ono – $500 million

2. Jay-Z – $450 million

3. David Letterman – $400 million

4. Stephen King – $400 million

5. Russell Simmons – $325 million

6. Sean Lennon – $200 million

7. Mike Myers – $175 million

8. George Clooney – $160 million

9. Brad Pitt – $150 million

10. Don King – $150 million

11. Roger Waters – $145 million

12. Jane Fonda – $120 million

13. Miley Cyrus – 120 million

14. Al Gore – $100 million

15. Roseanne Barr – $80 million

16. Deepak Chopra – $80 million

17. Kanye West – $70 million

18. Dan Rather – $70 million

19. Alec Baldwin – $65 million

20. Matt Damon – $65 million

21. Tom Morello – $60 million

22. Mia Farrow – $60 million

23. Katy Perry – $55 million

24. Michael Moore – $50 million

25. Susan Sarandon – $50 million

Climate Change; Myth, Reality, Man-made?

Posted by Steve Markowitz on June 1, 2011

The fact that the world did not come to an end this past weekend as predicted by Pastor Harold Camping gave relief to some.  It also caused trepidations for other followers of the good Pastor.  As for Jeff Jacoby of The Boston Globe, he wrote a thought-provoking article titled Cooler Heads Contend with Climate Panic that points to similarities between  those who follow(ed) Pastor Camping and those who follow the high-priest of man-made global warming, Al Gore.

As Jacoby points out, the Guardian.co.uk has recently proclaimed “Worst ever carbon emissions leave climate on the brink“.  Not to be outdone, Newsweek proclaimed: Worldwide, the litany of weather’s extremes has reached biblical proportions.  From these and other extreme-weather events, one lesson is sinking in with terrifying certainty.  The stable climate of the last 12,000 years is gone.”  Yikes; sounds like Pastor Camping isn’t the only one looking for the final days.  However, before anyone runs up the credit cards too far, consider that Mr. Gore may also be wrong.

Jacoby then quotes Princeton physicist William Harper who does not believe carbon dioxide (CO2) is the cause of global warming saying:  “Carbon is the stuff of life.  Our bodies are made of carbon.  Yes, atmospheric CO2 is higher today than it was before the industrial age — 390 parts per million now vs. 270 ppm then — but there was a time when CO2 levels were several thousand ppm, much higher than now.  And life flourished abundantly.

The chart below shows the radical shift in worldwide global temperatures that occurred long before the industrial age and man’s influence on the environment.  Also the 10 ice ages and their subsequent global warming’s that occurred before the industrial age give at least some reason to pause on Father Gore’s theories.  But for true believers, the book is closed and the calamity is on the way.

Progressives have learned from their past incorrect predictions, such as Y2K, Swine Flu, Bird Flu and others that included defined ending dates.  With manmade CO2 being blamed for global climate change, they rectified this timing problem with decades of legs remaining.  That gives Progressives plenty of time to realign global wealth and restructure the world, their actual motivations.

A Review of the Obama Presidency

Posted by Steve Markowitz on March 15, 2011

In June of 2009, long before the broader public viewed President Obama as an emperor without cloths, Blog reader Jim Mahoney understood the president and his radical agenda and wrote the piece below.  Jim’s words penned nearly two years ago accurately predicted where the Country was heading under President Obama.

The Presidency of George W. Bush had serious flaws, especially related to his fiscal policies.  However, under Barack Obama’s leadership, not one major policy area including financial, social and foreign policies has improved.  The presidency of Barack Obama will be viewed by history as a failure comparable to that of Jimmy Carter.

Who is Out of Touch? Jim Mahoney © 2009

I subscribe to several liberal and conservative blogs and newsgroups to stay informed about all sides of the issues.  The price I pay for this is that I received a lot of unsolicited emails.  Recently I received an email with the subject “Send Cheney Packing”.  It was from Jen O’Malley Dillon (why do liberals always seem to have three names?), the Executive Director of the Democratic National Committee.  It was, I’m sure, what she thought was a very clever message soliciting contributions to purchase a bus ticket to send Dick Cheyney back to Wyoming.  The message was illustrated with a cartoon graphic of Dick Cheney in a short yellow bus (nice bit of sensitivity there, Jen).  I eagerly read the message to discover what the vice president could have said that was deserving of banishment.  I’ll spare you the text of the entire message, but I will reprint selected passages from the email followed by my comments.  The message begins:

“After some of his recent interviews, former Vice President Cheney has shown that he clearly doesn’t know when to pack it in.  In just the last week, he’s gone on national television in an effort to tear down President Obama’s agenda – saying the President’s economic programs will be “devastating to our society” and that his foreign policy makes us seem “weak” to the rest of the world.”

Well, let’s review some of the Obama economic policies.  Obama, who blasted the Bush budget deficits during the campaign, has managed to quadruple that deficit in his first three months in office.  He has already spent more money than all 43 of the previous presidents combined, saddling future generations with a huge debt that we may never be able to repay.  If that isn’t devastating I don’t know what is.  In addition, Obama is already well on his way to nationalizing the financial and auto industries and he is moving swiftly to institute government run healthcare, unionization of companies without a secret ballot vote and granting citizenship to illegal aliens.  He is acting as quickly as possible to set these policies at the national level to virtually guarantee that we may never be able to unravel them.  I’m no expert, but none of this sound like a rational economic policy to me.

Obama has also been demonstrably amateurish on foreign policy matters as well.  At the G 20 Summit in Great Britain he literally bowed down to the king of Saudi Arabia and then figuratively bowed down to European leaders by apologizing for America’s past “arrogance”.  He traveled to the continent that gave the world Communism, Socialism and Fascism and felt that only America needed to apologize.  I would have liked for him to expand the apology club a little.  I’d like Great Britain to apologize for the way they starved, impoverished and tortured my ancestors in Ireland.  Italy could apologize for adopting Fascism in WWII, France could apologize for its cowardice in every war since the American Revolution and don’t even get me started on Germany.  However, in the world of Barack Obama, only the United States is ever at fault.  But wait, there’s more.  He continued the apology tour barely a week later at the Summit of the Americas.  Obama allowed himself to be used as propaganda prop by Hugo Chavez, who handed him an anti-American book that Obama displayed prominently for the television cameras.  Obama then sat silently as Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega unleashed a tirade of anti-American rhetoric.  His only response was to express relief that he wasn’t being held responsible for things that happened before he was born.  His actions project a staggering level of weakness that has to have our enemies salivating.  But I suppose none of that matters to Jen as long as we have the coolest president evah!  Let’s continue with Jen’s insightful observations about Dick Cheney:

“I don’t know about you, but I think it’s time for him to stop sniping from the sidelines and let President Obama usher in the changes Americans demanded after eight years of Cheney’s disastrous policies.”

Sniping from the sidelines?  Oh, really.  I seem to remember a speech in which former vice president Al Gore was growling that George Bush “betrayed this country” by taking us into war on supposedly false information.  Furthermore, Gore made these comments in a deliberate attempt to discredit the President of the United States during a time of war.  Also, was it not Jimmy Carter and Gore’s former boss, Bill Clinton who broke with the long standing tradition of former presidents not criticizing their successors?   And who can forget this attack on the Bush administration from Hillary Clinton when she was a sitting senator laying the groundwork for her presidential campaign?  “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic, and we should stand up and say, “We are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration” (emphasis added)

I guess Jen didn’t get the memo or she would have known that Hillary herself gave the green light for dissent against any president, and Dick Cheney is merely following her lead.  At the time she made her statement, Hillary was praised by the media for taking a stand and “speaking truth to power”.  What is different now other than the political party of the president being criticized?  Rather than waste time on the obvious, let’s get back to Jen’s big closing argument:

“…While President Obama has been working to tackle America’s biggest issues, Cheney has been busy bashing the President in nationally-televised interviews – warning about a “vast expansion of the deficit” and agreeing with Sean Hannity that the President is “naive.” “

The fact that government spending and the deficit are going to explode under the Obama administration is openly acknowledged by both the White House and the Congressional Budget Office.  You want to talk naive?  Obama appears to believe that he can make the brutal dictators of the world listen to reason by the mere power of his personality.  In a shocking bit of irony, Obama announced a plan for unilateral American disarmament on the day after North Korea lobbed a missile into the Pacific Ocean.  Although it was deemed a failure by missile experts, the North Korean missile easily had the range to make Japan a potential target, and Los Angeles could potentially be in range after a few more months of testing.  Is it really wise for him to telegraph an intention to disarm at this time?  By any objective measure of their handling of the economy, foreign policy and national defense, the kindest thing we can say about the Obama administration is that it is amateur night.  Even after a cursory examination of the evidence, it doesn’t sound as if Mr. Cheney is incorrect as much as he is daring to speak out against the media-manufactured image that the American public is in universal agreement with everything Barack Obama says and does.

Let us for a moment accept the premise of the Democrat Committee message at face value.  If Mr. Cheyney’s remarks are as out of the mainstream as they would have us believe, why not just let him spout his views and destroy his own credibility as the American people make up their own minds?  Instead, any statements uttered by prominent conservatives like Cheney cause liberals to spring into action to simultaneously dismiss them as irrelevant while expending inordinate amounts of energy to discredit them.  If conservatism is really dead, why do liberals still fear it so?

The answer to this question was provided in a column by Michael Reagan in which he said, “There’s an old adage that explains that one does not shoot arrows at dead tigers.  If there is a fusillade of arrows flying in the direction of a tiger you can be sure of two things: the beast is very much alive and is seen as a dangerous threat to the people manning the bows.” Folks like Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal have a volley of arrows flying at them because liberals fear the ability they have to energize the conservative voters in America.  If Sarah Palin is indeed as inconsequential as liberals would have us believe, why are they still viciously attacking her seven months after the election?  Have you thought about John Kerry for even a passing moment since the day after the 2004 election?

The media not only attack the voices of conservatism, they also presume to decide who our spokesmen should be.  Tune in to any liberal cable news network and you’ll see a panel discussion of “experts” telling the Republicans what they need to do to be successful.  Their formula for success usually requires that conservatives abandon their core principles.  Does it strike anyone else as strange that conservatives should accept advice from liberals on how they can be more successful?  What’s next; the manager of the New York Mets giving his suggestions for the Phillies’ player roster?

As Barack Obama and his willing accomplices in congress attempt to push through their socialist programs at breakneck speed, we owe Dick Cheney our thanks for speaking up and demonstrating the backbone that is sadly lacking in the Republican members of congress.  Obama needs his poll numbers to remain high if he hopes to implement his agenda and Dick Cheney is pointing out the disconnect between the public’s perception of Obama personally and the dismal reality of our economy, foreign policy and national security.  The administration is well aware that Cheney’s message is being heard by both the conservative base and a growing throng of Obama voters who are experiencing buyer’s remorse.  The more they attack conservatives for speaking out, the more you will know that message is gaining traction.

U2’s Bono Proves to be a Fraud when it Comes to Going Green

Posted by Steve Markowitz on November 29, 2010

Since going Green went mainstream, various celebrities have taken up the cause.  Their message often includes threats of the dire consequences to come to all of us should we not stop using carbon-based fuels.  While the science behind these claims is questionable, the hypocrisy shown by these prophets of doom is not.

Let’s start with the high-priest of the religion of manmade climate change, Al Gore.  His Tennessee mansion includes 20 rooms plus 8 bathrooms, as well as a pool and a separate guest house.  Its energy consumption in one month is greater than the average American household consumes in a full year.  But that was not enough for carbon hogging Gore.  Earlier this year he purchased a $9 million mansion in Montecito, California.  While being the poster child for being Green hasn’t stopped Gore’s orgy of energy use, it has made him a very rich man.

Progressive politicians are often guilty of not practicing what they preach.  Nancy Pelosi required a huge private jet to fly here to and from Washington.  President Obama flies Air Force One all over the world instead of using video conferencing.  Perhaps the height of arrogance occurred when these Progrssives and the President took their private jets to Copenhagen’s climate meeting, belching out carbon like cows overdosed on corn and malaises.  The gathering didn’t accomplish a thing, possibly the best outcome for this charade.

World-renowned rocker, Bono, of U2 fame, has been a strong proponent for the Green movement.  Last year in Tokyo Japan Bono proclaimed: “My prayer is that we become better in looking after our planet.”  Such emotional talk on the environment has made him a darling of Greenies worldwide.  Keenforgreen.com said of Bono: “If you are looking for an environmental role model, Irish rockstar, Bono (born Paul David Hewson, May 10, 1960), of the band U2 is a good place to start.

While Mr. Bono’s words might be sweat music to some, his actions are that of a fraud.  The nzherald.com reported on some interesting statistics supplied by an environment website, carbonfootprint.com relating to U2’s upcoming world tour:

  • The daily running cost for the tour will be $850,000, requiring six 747 jets.
  • U2’s 18-month tour will include the band traveling about 70,000 miles in a private jet.
  • The U2 360 tour features three 390-ton stages shipped around the globe and requiring a crew and staff of 200.
  • The tour’s carbon footprint will emit about 65,000 tonnes of CO2.  That is equivalent to leaving a 100 watt lightbulb turned on for about 160,000 years.
  • Carbonfootprint.com has also said that “The carbon footprint generated by U2’s 44 concerts this year is equal to carbon created by the four band members travelling the 34.125 million miles from Earth to Mars in a passenger plane.”

When confronted about these Green excess, U2’s manager, Paul McGuinness was unapologetic and bragged “I can assure you the costs of putting this show on are the highest in history“.

Bono’s arrogance indicates that he does not believe that manmade use of carbon-based energy causes global warming or that he and his Progressive friends have a special license to burn carbon that the common man does not have.  That makes him either a fraud or an elitist; most likely the answer rests in a mixture of the two.

Al Gore Admits his Position on Ethanol was Flawed

Posted by Steve Markowitz on November 22, 2010

Al Gore has taken a breather from the limelight and publicity that has made him a multi-millionaire.  This is not likely due to the fact that Gore feels he has enough money.  The inconvenient truth is that life has taken some negative turns for the high-priest of the religion of manmade global warming.

Gore’s problems are both personal and professional.  On the personal side his marriage with Tipper is on the rocks.  Then there was the publicity of Al’s overactive libido with the massage therapists garnered.  There also has been publicity surrounding Gore’s excessive burning of carbon fuels in his mansions and private jet.

On the professional side, things haven’t gone much better.  Global temperatures have stopped rising and the models used to predict the impending disasters from manmade global warming have come under attack.  We had Climategate in which some of Gore’s scientific pals got caught fudging data.  Finally, the world seems to be tiring of the global warming scare tactics.

Things continue deteriorating for Al.  Today, Reuters reported that Gore admitted errors in his decision to back ethanol as an additive for gasoline.  While speaking at a green energy business conference in Athens sponsored by Marfin Popular Bank, Gore said:

  • It is not a good policy to have these massive subsidies for (U.S.) first generation ethanol.”
  • First generation ethanol I think was a mistake.  The energy conversion ratios are at best very small.”
  • One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president.”

This is remarkable.  Here Gore admits that not only was his decision relating to ethanol wrong, but it was motivated for personal, i.e. to further his desire to become president.

While Gore admitted the error of his ethanol decision, he ignores the damages that his position had on the greater society.  Ethanol is made from extracted sugar from corn and requires substantial energy to produce.  It is not a viable source of fuel without government subsidies.  Last past year total ethanol subsidies in the United States was about $7.7 billion.  This subsidy is nothing more than a political and financial giveback to the farming industry.  It is in keeping with other government payola relating to the “green” energy industry.

Just as problematic as the government handouts to farmers is the negative impact ethanol has had on feeding the world’s hunger population.  Given its corn-based origin, every corncob used for fuel production is one less available for food production.  As Reuters reported, ethanol will consume about 41 percent of the U.S. corn crop this year equaling about 15 percent of the global corn grown.  This fact has significantly increased food prices worldwide, affecting world hunger rates and undoubtedly increased deaths by starvation.

The negative consequences of Gore and fellow Progressives’ interventions into the energy markets has been catastrophic.  It has wasted billions and led to hunger, malnutrition and possibly starvation in the third world.  It is time to hold Progrssives accountable for the results of their policies.  It’s time for the world to recognize Al Gore as the fraud that he is.

Let’s finish by adding insult to injury.  Al Gore likely got paid to admit the errors of his ways at the Athens’ conference.

Al Gore Apologist Chimes In

Posted by Steve Markowitz on July 7, 2010

This Blog appreciates reader input.  Some of these interchanges are worthy of being up fronted, like one received today.

A reader took offence to a May 13, 2010 Posting titled: “Global Warming has Benn Good to Al Gore”  That Posting referred to a new $9 million second home that Al Gore bought and tied that purchase to the income he has derived from preaching about Manmade Global Warming.

It’s amazing how defensive Progressives get when we mention the profit their mentors are making.

Sunny Guy said:

Right.  Al Gore is the only politician that made big bucks over the last 10 years.  Yeah right.  What are Bush and Cheney worth these days, for instance?  And where is your evidence that Al Gore is profiting from the climate crisis?  If none, then it’s just a cheap shot of innuendo on your part.

Sunny Guy

Hi Sunny Guy.  Lighten up on the defensiveness relating to Al Gore.

This Blog has nothing against people making money.  That’s what capitalism is all about, even if it’s made by selling snake-oil like Gore.  But, he didn’t invent that gig anymore than he invented the Internet.

And yes, Gore isn’t the only politician that made money after doing the people’s work.  That’s unfortunately typical for many in Washington on both sides of the isle.  It seems, however, that when someone on the Right makes financial killing, he or she is look at it with some jaundice.  But when a Leftie makes a killing, that is merely good fortune.  Sorry, but I do not drink from that Kool-Aid!

So, what you are saying is that since Bush and Cheney profited after leaving office, all others including Gore are exonerated from scrutiny?  Boy, you haven’t set your bar very high.

Now as for Gore, he at the very least has been in a conflict position.  He has made over $100 million since leaving office, mostly on that Global-warming gig.  That must affect what he is willing to preach.  Global Warming has sure been a Convenient Truth for Al!  Now as for those two huge homes he owns, or the private jest he flies in, their carbon footprint just doesn’t matter to Al.  How convenient!

As for cheap innuendo, Al’s getting plenty of that lately, the result of his habit of calling in female masseuses late at night.  I know, just another right-wing conspiracy.

Al Gore’s Depression

Posted by Steve Markowitz on May 19, 2010

Carl forwarded this Al Gore commencement speech video clip with a few comments, which are also posted below.  Gore, the high priest of the New Religion of Manmade Global Warming, is a poster-child of the Progressive movement.  Watching Gore helps remind us why there is real change coming.  Obama, Gore and associates have indeed started a revolution, but not the one they had in mind.  They have awakened in America a spirit that has been missing for a long time, as evidenced in the elections.  Change is coming.

Carl says:

Poor carbon credit millionaire globetrotting hypocrite Al Gore has nothing to live for: no hope, no trust in our technology and no understanding of the actual science, perhaps due his total lack of formal scientific training, reliance flawed data and, therefore, his questionable conclusions.

If the future is really so bad for these sweltering graduates (enduring Gore’s depressing litany of doom delivered in his slow, condescending droid-like drone cluttered by an annoying lisping drawl) why didn’t Gore just pass out the poison Koolaid (a la Jim Jones) and put these pitiful graduates out of their collective misery?  Then, perhaps, the planet will return to its ideal primitive natural state, devoid of all harmful human life, starting with members of the Tea Party movement and the GOP.  History will record this act of ridding the world of Evil Man as the greatest act of selflessness ever attempted, but who will be left to write or study History? the Polar bears?

Global Warming has Been Good to Al Gore: Buys $9 million Mansion in CA

Posted by Steve Markowitz on May 13, 2010

This Blog has expressed skepticism in the past about the reality of manmade global warming.  However, that is not the purpose of this posting.

Earlier this year Al Gore purchased a $9 million mansion in the luxurious hills of Montecito, California.  Many have probably not heard of this purchase since the story has only been mentioned in the Los Angeles Times and by Fox News.  It seems the mainstream media is embarrassed by their lead climate guru spending so much on a house with six fireplaces, five bedrooms, and nine bathrooms all for just Al and the wife.  That just might give the green movement a bad name so they have buried the story.

It seems that Gore is also a bit shy on the issue of his wealth.  When questioned last year by a Congressman as the House was deliberating on Cap-and-Trade legislation, Gore said:

“Every penny that I have made, I have put right into a non-profit deal, Alliance For Climate Protection, to spread awareness of why we have to take on this challenge.  And Congresswomen, if your, if, if you believe that the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is because of greed, you do not know me.”

Hmmm ….. , then who paid for this house Mr. Gore?

Let’s see: Gore reported in 2000 that he was worth between $1 million and $2 million.  Ten years later he buys a house worth $9,000,000 in the midst of the worst recession during his lifetime.   One reality cannot be argued: global warming has been very good to Al Gore.

Where are the Global Warming Scammers Hiding?

Posted by Steve Markowitz on April 18, 2010

For much of the past decade Progressives have been warning us about the looming catastrophe coming from manmade climate change; Global Warming.  According to the Progressives, the catastrophe would be so huge that the world should risk their economies, even if that meant trillions of dollars and would impact food production.

Since the New Year, the Progressives have seemed to lose their appetite for the Global Warming gig.  We must take this as an admission that the scare was overblown.  Clearly the facts have impeded their sales pitch.  First, the inconvenient truth got out that the world had not been warming during the first decade of this century.  Then, we had Climate-Gate with leading scientists fudging data to make the warming look more significant than it really was.  Next, we learned that the United Nations report claiming the Himalayan glaciers would completely melt by 2035 was false.  To cap all this nonsense off there was that mega carbon-burning conference in Copenhagen, Denmark last December that ended with no accomplishments; i.e. the Progressives in each country arguing on next steps.  Where is Al Gore hiding?

The Global Warming scare was not created because of science.  Progressives used it to: 1) obtain more power for governments, 2) scare the world to help implement their plan for redistributing wealth, worldwide; and 3) plan old fashion greed.  Large corporations and individuals stood to make a lot of money selling “green” gear and trading carbon credits.

Events of recent months served to remind us that man is not as in control of the earth as Progressives preach in their religion of climate change.  We had major earthquakes in Haiti and China, for which the world was ill-prepared.  The Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland popped its top sending derby into the atmosphere.  While the initial effect was the disruption of air traffic in Europe, should it send enough dust into the atmosphere this could lead to extensive global cooling.  That would probably be just fine with the Progressives who would then start a new scam.

The Global Warming scam came from the same folks that gave us the Y2K scam, as well as other.  The motives behind these “catastrophe scams” are no more noble than those of the bankers that gave us the economic meltdown of 2008.  There is a difference:  our government is prosecuting Goldman Sachs (and soon others) for the financial scams, but not the scammers that gave us Global Warming.

There is a connection between the financial and Global Warming scammers that brings a bit of irony to this story.  Goldman Sachs and financial giant General Electric were big backers of the Global Warming scam, as they stood to make billions trading carbon credits and selling green gear.  The Progressives would have you believe that when these corporations are on the Global Warming gig they are acting in our best interest.  You have got to love their gall!
