Obama’s Naive Foreign Policy

manuel_zelaya (1)In late June of this year, President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras was deposed and sent into exile.  President Obama quickly condemned the action and demanded the return of Zelaya to power.  Since then a Law Library of Congress review concluded that Zelaya’s removal from office was legal under Honduras law.  Why are we then meddling in this matter?

capt.photo_1254759414338-4-0About the same time as the Honduras issue, Iranian political dissent was brutally put down by the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.  President Obama was eerily silent on this oppression of the Iranian people, stating that he did not want to meddle in the internal affairs of Iran.  How disingenuous this position is given the President’s willingness to meddle in the internal affairs of Honduras.
