Newsweek reported that Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, 43, is to be stoned to death next week after being convicted of adultery in Iran. The sentence will be carried out by burying Ashtiani, the mother of two, up to her breasts and stoning her to death. Got to love the logic of the Iranians; they won’t let the onlookers see the victim’s breast, but the sight of a head being bashed in, now that’s OK!
Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani has already paid a price for her supposed transgression, spending five years in prison and receiving 99 lashes. But that’s not enough blood for the civilized Iranian Mullahs.
It is remarkable how silent the Progressives are on this latest demonstration of Islamic intolerance. Where are the feminists? Where is our Progressive President on this blatant human rights abuse? Shame on all of us for our head-in-the-sand denial of the evils emanating from some in Islam.

ABC News’ Kirit Radia has reported on a remarkable story, even for the Progressives in the Obama Administration. Obama is now equating the new Arizona immigration law with human rights abuses in China. What a stretch and how convenient!
Let’s see; the Arizona law allows local authorities to check one’s immigration status only if that person is stopped for some other legitimate legal cause and if found to be illegal, can be deported. Over the years China has murdered thousands of its citizens, violently put down protests and even today dictates how many children its citizens may have. If you are having difficulty equating Arizona and China, then you are thankfully not part of the Cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs Progressives currently occupying our White House.
According to Radia, a human rights meeting was held last week between China and the United States. Incredibly, the Obama team raised the Arizona immigration law as an example of “racial discrimination” in America. Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy Human Rights and Labor Michael Posner indicated that “We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session and as a troubling trend in our society, and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination. And these are issues very much being debated in our own society”.
Even though Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has admitted that Arizona’s law is not racist (see Eric Holder Admits ….), the President allowed his negotiators in China to state otherwise; typical diplomatic and Progressive double talk. In the words of US Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, “We’re talking about issues that are uncomfortable, quite frankly, but it is a sign of maturity that we can talk about specific cases“. What dribble! This group will never let facts interfere with diplomacy. And these folks are supposed to be working for us?
The day the Arizona law was voted in President Obama called it “misguided.” Now he is resorted to outright false statements about the law and using these misrepresentations in a way that not only damages American prestige, but also damages the cause of real Human Rights violations worldwide. With friends like this, ……….
