The Wall Street Journal reported a major escalation in the efforts by the CIA in attacking terrorists in Pakistan. The CIAlaunched 20 drone strikes in September in Pakistan’s so-called lawless tribal region near Afghanistan, setting a newrecord. These CIA attacks are a supposed response to a terrorist plot against European countries, specifically the U.K., France and Germany.
Shortly after his inauguration, Barack Obama banned the use of the term “war on terror” within his Administration. This action was in keeping with the Obama philosophy that all that came before his reign must be remade. However, this narcissism does not change reality on the ground. If sending missiles into a sovereign country is not war, then what is it?
