President Obama Equates Christian History with Current Islamic Terrorism

Barack Obama took his radical view of the world order to a new low this week. During a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast the President said:
“Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ… In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”
While this type of history lesson might be appropriate on a Leftist college campus, it is outrageous coming form United States’ Commander in Chief.
The United States has faced many conflicts throughout its history, some inflicted by foreign enemies and others from internal moral conflicts. Slavery and Jim Crow fit within this latter category. Given that the Crusades predated this Country’s existence by centuries makes the President’s attempt to conflate Christianity and the United States with radical Islam perplexing.
Obama has been rightfully taken the task by many or his outrageous comments on radical Islam at the National Prayer Breakfast. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal appropriately stated the obvious:
“It was nice of the President to give us a history lesson at the Prayer breakfast. Today, however, the issue right in front of his nose, in the here and now, is the terrorism of Radical Islam, the assassination of journalists, the beheading and burning alive of captives. We will be happy to keep an eye out for runaway Christians, but it would be nice if he would face the reality of the situation today. The Medieval Christian threat is under control, Mr. President. Please deal with the Radical Islamic threat today.”
Any attempt to equate the barbarism of contemporary terrorism carried out in the name of Islam with past history only serves to justify the violence now inflicting much of the world. The President of the United States should be the voice of morality for the Western world. Instead Obama has been a ditherer, absent of moral clarity. That moral clarity is left to others like Dr. Ben Carson, as seen in the video below.
