State Department Says Obama “Doesn’t Give Himself Enough Credit”

Posted by Steve Markowitz on May 30, 2014

President Obama has shown signs of narcissism and seeming contempt for the people he serves throughout his presidency.  His constant use of the word “I” in referring to policies and actions are out of place for a representative of the People.  When his administration has been involved with serous errors or possible scandals, he typically claims ignorance of blames the issue on a previous administration.

Other administration officials have shown similar traits to the President’s.  Examples include Hillary Clinton’s statement of “what difference does it make” when referring to the Administration’s failures in the Benghazi, Libya Consulate attack that resulted in the deaths of four Americans including the US Ambassador.  Presidential Press Secretary Jay Carney, who today announced that he is leaving the administration next month, has shown a callous attitude toward the truth when answering questions from the press.

Yesterday a State Department official took the administration’s narcissism to a new height when its spokesperson, Jen Psaki, said she believes that Obama “doesn’t give himself enough credit for what he’s done around the world.”  The press, some of who laughed at the statement as seen in the video clip below, did not buy into Ms. Psaki’s statement with Associated Press reporter Matt Lee asking: “How much credit would you give him?  After fumbling a bit, Psaki credited the President with his “engagement initiatives like Iran, what we’ve done on Ukraine, efforts to dive in and engage around the world.”

Only in an administration whose policy failures include the Libya, Syria, Russian relations, China relations, North Korea, etc. a could what’s going on in the Ukraine and Iran have a positive spin.

As for Ms. Psaki, she is a typical politico who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, worked her adult life for Democratic operatives, and never worked in the private sector.  Being part of this political industry goes a long way towards explain her irrational statement about the President’s foreign policy achievements.

Perhaps the US should institute a year in the military for these political types. Then, perish the thought, a real summer job between visits to far places.

The VA nightmare is a painful and hideous reminder of the excesses of those who design plans for a nation yet never suffer the consequences of their nonsensical
    Ideas.
