Robert Gates Blasts Obama Administration

Posted by Steve Markowitz on January 12, 2014

Pentagon Holds Farewell Ceremony For Robert GatesFormer Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates has released his book “Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary of War” and it is not kind to President Obama or his Administration.

Gates was especially critical of the President and Hillary Clinton for opposing the surge in Iraq prior to Obama’s first election for political reasons only stating: “Hillary told the president that her opposition to the [2007] surge in Iraq had been political because she was facing him in the Iowa primary. . . . The president conceded vaguely that opposition to the Iraq surge had been political.”   While politics plays a role in many governmental decisions, it is often avoided on national security issues.  However, not with this president with Gates further saying: “To hear the two of them making these admissions…was as surprising as it was dismaying.

Gates was equally critical of VP Joe Biden saying: “I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

When the history of the Obama Administration is fully written we will ask how Obama became president.  The answer will be willful dumbness on the part of the American People. What did we expect when we elected a Community Organizer as president?
