Clinton Says Obama Should Honor his Obamacare Insurance Promise

Posted by Steve Markowitz on November 12, 2013

What a difference a month makes in politics.  In early October Republicans were blamed for the US government shutdown and there was talk of a schism within the Party.  Right before the shutdown Republicans offered a deal to avoid it if President Obama would agree to a one year delay in the implementation of the individual Obamacare mandate.  As typical with this president there was no compromise.  Now a month later Democrats up for reelection in 2014 are running scared and are asking for a delay in Obamacare’s implementation.

Today former President Bill Clinton, still the rock star of the Democratic Party, distanced himself from President Obama and Obamacare saying in an interview on OZY.com:

  • “For young people who are in the individual market whose incomes are above 400 percent of the poverty level, they were the ones who heard the promise, ‘If you like what you got, you can keep it.’”
  • I personally believe, even if it takes a change in the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they got.”

Many who have not agreed with Barack Obama’s politics or governing style found him to be narcissistic.  Some of Obama’s associates, such as Rev. Jeremy Wright, learned of the President’s willingness to throw friends under the bus when they interfere with his political ambitions.  The President’s unbridled narcissism will likely cause significant political damage for Democrats in the upcoming elections.  The signs of schism within the Democratic Party are growing.
