WWII Vet Killed by Teenage Thugs in Spokane

Last week Delbert Belton, an 88-year-old World War II veteran wounded in Okinawa, was brutally murdered in Spokane, Washington. According to KXLY-TV reports., Delbert was murdered by two teenagers, 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn who is in custody and Kenan Adams-Kinard who is on the run, both with prior criminal/juvenile records. Delbert was beating to death with a flashlight.
It is interesting comparing reactions (or lack of them) to the Belton murder from the mainstream media and political, leaders including President Obama, with reactions to the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida. In the case of Martin, an African-American was killed by a different colored skinned Hispanic. While the Justice Department investigated this shooting and determined it was not related to race, the Left used it to promote the false narrative that racism was behind it.
With the killing of Belton, a Caucasian was murdered by two African-Americans. The Left and its mainstream media comrades acknowledged this is a tragedy, but made little linkage to race.
While race may have played a role in both killings of both Martin and Belton, it was at most a secondary issue. The real crisis indicated by both killings is the growing amount of violence involving America’s youth. This is an issue that the Left cowards from for fear that it will lead to an open and real discussion concerning causes. Those causes very well would demonstrate the failure and damage to society created of Progressive and liberal policies. This includes the breakdown of the family, lack of accountability, and glorification of violence in modern culture via the entertainment industry.
Instead of attempting to address the real issues behind the growing violence within America’s youth, the Left not only created the false narrative that race was behind the Martin killing, but also used that tragedy to attempt to promote their anti-gun rights agenda. Using their lame logic they will begin demanding background checks for flashlights, given it was the tool of the Belton murder.
