Obama’s Vacation Like Royalty

According to The Telegraph, the President is staying in a $7.6 million 5,000 square foot estate in the Vineyard for this vacation. Taxpayers are footing significant expenses including ponying up $345 per night for each of the 70 hotel rooms booked for Secret Service agents. But that’s not all. Adding insult to injury, the President had his dog Bo helicoptered in for the getaway.
We should not begrudge President Obama for vacationing. At the same time spending taxpayers’ dollars on lavish vacations while many Americans continue to struggle in a difficult economy is at best in bad taste. But that is lost on a President who sees himself more as a king than that of a servant of the people.
