Liberal Duplicity on Constitutional Freedoms

Posted by Steve Markowitz on June 13, 2013

Franklin Roosevelt can be credited with starting down the slippery slope of increased federal government powers at the expense of individual American’s freedom and rights.  The drip, drip approach used by most administrations and the Congress has been insidious, allowing what at first seemed minor intrusions, to become abusive.  The Administration of Barack Obama has taken this governmental intrusion to new levels.  While correctly scary too many Americans, there is a silver lining in this tactic.

In recent weeks the scandals and publicized governmental intrusions have increased American’s awareness from the danger of tyranny.  First we were treated to the lies emanating from the White House on the causes and realities of the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya that led to the deaths of four Americans, including our ambassador.  Then it went public that the IRS was targeting political opponents of the Obama Administration.  Quickly on the heels of that scandal was the announcement that AP (Associated Press) phones had been bugged.  Adding insult to injury was the announcement that reporter James Rosen’s phones were tapped and he was accused by the US Justice Department of being complicit in espionage.  It is likely that more is to come out from an Administration who feels immune to the constraints of the Constitution.

Below is a video of an interview by Neil Cavuto that clearly demonstrates that the hard Left is making excuses for the Obama Administration’s tyranny.  Leftist Julian Epstein incredibly states that he sees no connection between the scandals and intrusive governmental actions.  About 2:40 in the video economist Ben Stein rightly calls the actions those of a “police state”.  This relatively brief video states the problem.  It is now up to the American people to determine an appropriate course of action.
