LA Killer Gaining Support

Posted by Steve Markowitz on February 11, 2013

christopher-dornerIn a perverse sign of the times, the ex-LA police officer accused of three killings and the subject of an ongoing manhunt is incredibly gaining support from some of the wing bats of society.  According to sacramento.cbs.local.com, Chris Dorner is gaining an Internet-based fan club of sorts.  His published ramblings in the 22 page manifesto claims he was wrongfully discharged in 2008 from the LA police force.  Sympathy for Dorner is gaining traction.  Internet postings include:

  • A Facebook page titled “We Are All Chris Dorner
  • We propose electing a man [Dorner, for president of the United States] who could no longer sit idly by and watch as malicious tyrants abuse the innocent.”
  • Yes, this is war.”
  • Another Facebook page titled: “I Support Christopher Jordan Dorner” has 3,000 liking it.
  • One person professed sympathy for Dorner claiming it was: “Because something needs to be done about the long known corruption of not only the LAPD, but several agencies.”
  • He is god for now and I support him and this page,” was another posted comment.

Killer worshiping is not a new phenomenon.  It wasn’t all that long ago that the Baby Boomers wore T-shirts making heroes or martyrs out of such killers as Mao Tse-tung, Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara and the Black Panthers.  This is a sad testament to our society.

Since being elected president over four years ago, Barack Obama has shown a willingness to comment on various societal issues including Prof. Gates’ run in with the local police, the killing of Trayvon Martin in Florida and even trivial issues such as the NFL referees strike.  Where is his bully pulpit on this wacko support for a killer in California?  You can be sure that if Dorner’s manifesto included Right wing rhetoric instead of its Left-wing drivel, there would be many voices on the Left screaming for action.  Their silence is deafening.
