Unimaginable Evil in Connecticut School Shootings-II

Posted by Steve Markowitz on December 17, 2012

In response to this Blog’s posting of yesterday titled “Unimaginable Evil in Connecticut School Shootings” Lee submitted a comment that gets right to the heart of the issue, as posted below.

You are correct.

Our society has abdicated responsibility with mentally ill people.  When children are difficult the response is medication.  Most facilities for people of all ages who are psychologically beyond hope are now closed in the interest of saving money.  When NY closed these hospitals the streets of Manhattan were littered with the clinically insane.

These days the problems are worse.  If we ask who is at fault for this disaster in Ct ……. people should look in a mirror.  We have abdicated demanding responsibility from our government.  The turnover of elected officials is rare.
