Global Warming and the Super Storm

Posted by Steve Markowitz on November 12, 2012

Hurricane Sandy came at a convenient time for certain political forces.  Certainly it helped make Obama look more presidential, diverting the nation’s attention for at least a few days from the serious economic and international issues the Country faces.

The storm also played in the hands of climate fear-mongers.  New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg, without scientific evidence, proclaimed the storm and future ones to come the result of man-made global warming.  Not only does this allow the good Mayor to pursue a philosophical agenda, but to also spend more of the people’s money on projects to “protect” the City from further storms to come.

Today, an acquaintance of this Blog with a PhD in meteorology shared a communication he sent to another academic with similar expertise.  While the Progressive Left proffers the view that the source of global warming is no longer in question, there are indeed academics who disagree.

The cause of global warming in deed remains in question.  If the scientist quoted below is correct, there is a great deal of money being wasted and going to fund crony capitalism.

After forwarding the original email to a colleague, Liz had some insightful comments also shared below.
