Mary Matalin Calls Paul Krugman a Liar

Posted by Steve Markowitz on October 7, 2012

On today’s ABC’s This Week, the discussion of the Obama-Romney debate was front and center.  The Left realizes that President Obama’s performance was nothing short of pitiful.  Their shock is intensified by the false narrative that they themselves have created that includes an overstatement of Barack Obama’s intellect and a constant bashing of the intelligence of any politician on the Right.

Given the disconnect between the false narrative and Obama’s performance, the Left has resorted to its time-honored tactic of calling the opposition liars.  On today’s This Week, conservative commentator Peggy Noonan made positive comments concerning Mitt Romney’s debate performance.  Economist and Left-wing journalist Paul Krugman realizing Noonan was correct, nevertheless went on the attack saying: “Except that everything he used to claim his centrism wasn’t true, so this is a question, does that start to take its toll over the next few months?”

Unfortunately for Mr. Krugman, the panel included conservative commentator Mary Matalin who took Krugman to task responding: “Professor, can I ask you?  You have mischaracterized and you have lied about every position and every particular of the Ryan plan on Medicare, from the efficiency of Medicare administration to calling it a voucher plan.  So you’re hardly credible on calling somebody else a liar.”  As shown in the video below, Krugman was stunned by Matalin’s comments.  His look as he was being spanked by Ms. Matalin was remarkably similar to that of Barack Obama as the President was getting whipped by Mr. Romney.  It is becoming evident that liberals have been evading legitimate policy debate so long that they have lost the ability to debate in general.
