2007 Video Demonstrates Obama’s Chameleon-like Abilities

Posted by Steve Markowitz on October 3, 2012

Two weeks ago a six-month-old video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney with comments concerning the 47% of Americans that don’t pay taxes set the mainstream media abuzz.  Romney inappropriately commented on the work ethic of the entire group, which the media pounced on.  This week, a five-year-old video of then Sen. Barack Obama making even more inappropriate comments has not garnered nearly as much attention in the Leftist media.

The Daily Caller has released a 2007 video of Barack Obama’s speech at Hampton University to an African-American audience that included many clergy.  Obama’s comments and tone are troubling to say the least with a part of the video available below.  First, he basically accused President George W. Bush of a racist reaction to the residents of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina stating:

Now here’s the thing, when 9-11 happened in New York City, they waived the Stafford Act – ‘This is too serious a problem.  We can’t expect New York City to rebuild on its own.  Forget that dollar you gotta put in. Well, here’s ten dollars.’  And that was the right thing to do.  When Hurricane Andrew struck in Florida, people said, ‘Look at this devastation.  We don’t expect you to come up with y’own money, here.  Here’s the money to rebuild.  We’re not gonna wait for you to scratch it together –  because you’re part of the American family.’”  Then Obama says of Katrina: “What’s happening down in New Orleans?  Where’s your dollar?  Where’s your Stafford Act money.  Makes no sense!  Tells me that somehow, the people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!

Obama’s recollection of the facts relating to Stafford Act money for New Orleans is imperfect at best.  However, that issue is for another posting.  In the same speech Obama goes on to praise the infamous racist pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, when he says:

“And then I’ve got to give a special shout out to my Pastor.  The guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me.  He’s a friend and a great leader not just in Chicago but all across the country, so please everybody give an extraordinary welcome to my pastor Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr., Trinity United Church of Christ.”

Barack Obama sat in the pews of Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years.  After sitting through the preacher’s racist rants, calling him “a friend and a great leader not just in Chicago but all across the country…” helps demonstrate who Barack Obama really is.

Pres. Obama’s comments are troubling in themselves.  In addition, in the video the President speaks with a tone and accent rarely if ever used by Obama in public.  To those in the audience he undoubtedly came across as an African-American with sympathies towards Black Liberation Theology, which has Marxist roots.  He was likely tutored in this philosophy by Jeremiah Wright and other radicals Associates.  Remarkably, during the same period as a candidate for the presidency, Obama came across too many Americans as a healer and one who would help America past are racial divide.  Only a chameleon like personality could convince these diverse groups that Obama embraced the opposing viewpoints.
