Congressman Andre Carson Would Model America after Madrassas

Posted by Steve Markowitz on July 6, 2012

The Left and its partners in the mainstream media often paint Republicans with religious affiliations as somehow dangerous to society.  At the same time the Left turns a blind eye to Democrats with strong affiliations to religious organizations.  Yet another example played out recently with Congressman Andrew Carson’s, Democrat from Indiana, rather bizarre comments included in the video below.  Carson incredibly says: “America will never tap into educational and ingenuity without looking at the model that we have in our madrassas, in our schools where innovation is encouraged, where the foundation is the Koran.”

Madrassas, religious-based schools found in many Muslim countries, are often breeding grounds for terrorism and religious intolerance. The schools often do not respect the rights of women or those outside the Muslim faith.  For Congressman Carson to suggest madrassas encourage innovation given the lack of progress in areas of science in so many Muslim countries is just laughable.

It is telling that the supposedly liberal congressional Democrats allow a radical like Andrew Carson to be a part of their conference.
