Why Obama Dislikes the Brits
Posted by smarko1 on June 12, 2010
On December 15, 2009, this Blog posted an article “Obama’s Vendetta Against Britain” that discussed the President’s snubs against one
of America’s staunchest allies, Great Britain. These snubs began shortly after the inauguration when Obama returned to Britain a Winston Churchill bust located in the Oval Office that Britain loaned to America as a sign of solidarity after the 9/11 attacks. The snubs continued at the President’s West Point speech when he announced he was sending more American troops to Afghanistan, but included no mention of Britain’s major contribution to the war effort.
Obama telegraphed his dislike for the Brits in his book, “The Audacity of Hope” when he compared the British Empire to South Africa’s apartheid regime and the Soviet Union. However, another explanation for his problem with Great Britain emerges with a bit of dot connecting.
One of Britain’s greatest statesmen was Winston Church. If not for Churchill it is likely that not only England, but the entire western world, would be different and for the worse today. Churchill’s determination and leadership kept Britain from capitulating to the Nazi’s when ransom indicated otherwise. But there was an equally important part of Churchill that made him a great visionary.
Churchill saw the inherent evil in the Nazis at a time when Progressives wanted to negotiate with them. That vision also enabled him to see the evil in Stalin’s Communist regime. Unfortunately the British people tossed Churchill out of power after the war when his vision for the future required continued sacrifice, a difficult pill for democracies to swallow.
Churchill’s vision also included a view of Islam that he wrote about over a hundred years ago (forwarded by a friend and posted below) that is profound given the violence that has come from many Islamic countries in recent times. Churchill’s views may have played a role in Obama retuning Churchill’s bust to England. It may also play a role in his dislike for modern Britain, especially given Britain’s strong stance against militant Islam and their support of America in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Obama has coddled up to America’s adversaries and reached out to the Islamic world in unprecedented ways. At the same time he has snubbed two of our most dependable allies, Great Britain and Israel. While very different countries, there are two similarities between Great Britain and Israel: 1) both are America’s strongest allies and 2) both have been a bulwark against militant Islam. The pattern from Obama has emerged that is quite troubling.
Winston Churchill said:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.“

Thanks so much for your insight on this and other subjects, and for including the chilling and prophetic words of Sir Winston on the subject of “Mohammedanism” (Islam) or, the “Religion of Peace” in the Politically Correct crowd’s talking points. I think that you are very likely correct that those words might have provoked a former Muslim, Mr. Barrak Hussein Obama, to send back to the UK the bust of Churchill.
History often blames piracy and the abducting of millions of peoples into slavery on Western people. (Yes, there were colorful pirates with British accents like Disney’s Jack Sparrow but there were also Muslim pirates and slave traders, just as we have today). It was Thomas Jefferson, not George W. Bush, who was the first President to use the word “Jihad” . He reacted to these crimes by secretly funding and organizing a secret naval response to Islamic aggression on the high seas utilizing new swift ships under the command of a Captain Decatur, the elite squad wearing Leatherneck collars to protect their throats. Jefferson refused to pay the extortion demands of the Islamic ruler of Tripoli who also sold into slavery hundreds of thousands (weak Europeans called it “paying tribute” to him). Thanks to Jefferson’s decisive action (in spite of a reluctant Congress) the USA prevailed dragging along some Europeans once victory was assured – they behaved a lot like the Progressives of today who are known to leave the room when the fighting starts. And, this why our Marines proudly sing: “From the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli…”
Churchill’s comparison of failure of the Roman Empire to modern Europe is uncanny. With birthrates among native Europeans and Russians declining while the Muslim population grows it won’t be long before a terrorist like Osama Bin Laden declares himself the 2nd Mohammed, as signified by the successful global religious domination of the Infidels (Western Culture). Such a system of religion/government is what Founders like Jefferson feared most. They knew that such as system can excuse tyranny, crime, human rights violations, the breaking of treaties or trade agreements, and acts of genocide or slavery because God is on their side against the evil Infidels.

No thanks needed. As Plato said: “The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” We all do our part.
