Reid’s Racist Comments About Obama Draw Little Media Attention

Posted by smarko1 on January 10, 2010

In 2008, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called candidate Barack Obama a “light-skinned African American” with “no Negro dialect”.  But don’t expect much coverage from the lame-stream media on his racists comments.  You see racism, sexism and other societal flaws only exist when they come from the Right.  The Left consistently gets a pass on their indiscretions.  The same pass Barack Obama was given when it became known that he attended a racist church for 20 years.

Only after Reid issued an apology to the President on Saturday, did the Washington Post report on the issue (use link below).  Reid said:

I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words.  I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.”

While the Associated Press and other outlets are starting to cover the story, it took the Blogosphere to get the news out.  Imagine the outrage if the Majority Leader was Republican.  Remember what happened to Trent Lott for equally inappropriate comments made at Strom Thurmond’s birthday party?  The outcry cost Lott his leadership position.  But don’t fret dear readers for Reid.  As a liberal he has the right to make racists statements without consequences.  As President Obama said of Reid’s statements:

I accepted Harry’s apology without question because I’ve known him for years, I’ve seen the passionate leadership he’s shown on issues of social justice and I know what’s in his heart.  As far as I am concerned, the book is closed.”

The President has publically confirmed a tragedy about the claim of racism.  It has become a political tool used by the Left against the opposition.  The left’s tactic has taken a serious societal problem and has made a mockery of it.

Hi, Steve…..Yes I saw what Harry Reid had to say before Obama made it into office. Found out from one of my other websites that emails me daily.

We both know the answer to that. I am finding it interesting that Nancy Pelosi made a “soft” negative verbal comment and that that wasn’t played up bigger. The one when she said that Obama made a lot of campaign promises.

You know, Steve, it isn’t about the republicans versus the demoncrats. It’s about the government versus the working people!

    Oh, my……did I misspell democrats???

Reid will be defeated in November. If anyone stood on a treet corner with a sign: Light Skin Negro….they would be arrested for disturbing the peace. However, Harry is leaving damage in his wake.

The good news: Ted Kennedy: his seat might be taken by a Rhino. Wow. The Dems are scared and have voted not to swaer in the winner in until long after the election on January 19, 2010…unless of course the Dem wins.

We have returned to the Wild West of politics. Start packing your six gun, Steve!
